【摘要】:Sincethereisnoreliablemethodofpredictingtheoverallstrengthanddeformationdataofarockmassfromtheresultsoflaboratorytestsonsmallspecimens,insitutestsonlargespecimensarenecessary,especiallyifthespecimensizerequiredforagivengrainsizewouldexceedthesizethatcanbeobtainedforortestedinalaboratoryasstatedinTestMethodD7012.Suchtestsalsohavetheadvantagethattherockspecimenistestedundersimilarenvironmentalconditionsasprevailingfortherockmass.Sincethestrengthofrockisdependentonthesizeofthetestspecimenanddiscontinuities,itisnecessarytotestseveralspecimens(laboratoryorfield,orboth)ofprogressivelyincreasingsizeuntilanasymptoticallyconstantstrengthvalueisfound.Thisvalueistakentorepresentthestrengthoftherockmass.,Note18212;Notwithstandingthestatementsonprecisionandbiascontainedinthistestmethod;theprecisionofthistestmethodisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticearegenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting.UsersofthistestmethodarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticedoesnotinitselfassurereliabletesting.Reliabletestingdependsonmanyfactors.Practiceprovidesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.Thetestmethodisshownonlybeingconductedundergroundandvertical.However,thistestmethodcouldbedoneinaquarryoronthesurfaceifareactionframecouldbesetuptobehaveasareactivesurfaceinplaceofatunnelcrown.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthemeasurementofthedeformabilityandstrengthoflargeinsituspecimensofrockbyauniaxialcompressivetest.Thetestresultstakeintoaccounttheeffectofbothintactmaterialbehaviorandthebehaviorofdiscontinuitiescontainedwithinthespecimenblock.1.2Thistestmethoddoesnotcoverwhichtypeofspecimenshouldbetestedorwhetheranisotropicfactorsshouldbeconsidered.Thespecificsofthetestprogramneedtobedevelopedpriortotestingandpossiblyevenbeforesampling.Suchspecificswouldbedependentontheintendeduseofthedata,aswellasanybudgetaryconstraintsandotherfactors,whichareoutsidethescopeofthistestmethod.1.3Theoreticallythereisnolimittothesizeofthetestspecimen;however,sizewillbecontrolledbythestrengthofthetestspecimenrelativetothecapacityofanyloadingapparatusandbearingcapacityofthesurfacetheapparatusmustreactagainst.Furthermore,theorientationandstrengthofdiscontinuitiesrelativetothespecimengeometrywillbeafactorlimitingspecimensizetoo.1.4AllobservedandcalculatedvaluesshallconformtotheguidelinesforsignificantdigitsandroundingestablishedinPracticeD6026.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
