【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesprocedurestocomparetwoobserved–failurerates;–failureintensities;–rates/intensitiesofrelevantevents.Theproceduresareusedtodeterminewhetheranapparentdifferencebetweenthetwosetsofobservationscanbeconsideredstatisticallysignificant.Itisassumedthatthetimeintervalsto/betweenthefailures(events)areindependentandidenticallyexponentiallydistributedduringtheobservationperiod(thatis,theaccumulatedrelevanttesttime).NOTE–Thisassumptionimpliesthatthefailurerate/intensityisconstant.Itisfurthermoreassumedthattherearetechnicalorotherreasonstobelievethatadifference(eitheranimprovementordeterioration)mightexistbetweentheobservedreliabilitycharacteristicofthetwosetsofitemsundercomparison.Someexamplesoftypicalapplicationsaredescribedin5.4.Themethodsaredesignedashypothesistestswhichstate,withaspecifiedrisk(thesignificancelevel),whetherthetwoseriesofobservationsbelongtothesamepopulationorthesameprocess,thatistheyhavethesametruemeanvalue.NOTE–Failurerate,whichisrelevanttonon-repaireditems,isassociatedwithadistributionoftimestofailure.Failureintensity,whichisrelevanttorepaireditemsonly,isassociatedwithapointprocessdescribingasequenceofevents,forexampletimesbetweenfailuresonatimeaxis.Theproceduresarenotrestrictedtocomparisonoffailurerate/intensity,butcanbeappliedtoobservationsoftwoseriesofanyrelevantevents,providedtheaboveassumptionsarevalid.NOTE–Thetwoseriesofobservationsmaybeofitemsfromthesamepopulation,orthesameitemunderdifferentconditions(forexampleenvironmentandload),orjustcomparableseriesofevents(forexamplecaraccidentsonaroad).Numericalmethodsandagraphicalprocedureareprescribed.Theobservationperiodsrelevanttothetwoseriesdonotneedtobeequal,butiftheyare,themethodsareverysimple.
