【摘要】:Measuredglossvaluesofspecimensdependontheangleofillumination,refractiveindexofthematerial,andthegeometricdistributionofthereflectedlight.Hazeisproducedbyirregularitiesinthereflectingsurfacethataffectthedistributionoffluxreflectedaroundthespecularangle.TheproceduresspecifiedinTestMethodD523arenotdesignedtomeasurereflected-fluxscatteringcharacteristicsofhigh-glossfinishes,particularlywherespecimenshavingdifferentsurfacerefractiveindexesarebeingcompared.Abetterindexofscatteringcanbeobtainedbymakingtwospecularreflectancemeasurements,thatis,theuseoftworeceptoraperturesofdifferentsize.Inthistestmethod,valuesforreflectionhazeareobtainedfromtwomeasurementsofspeculargloss,onemadewithalargereceptorapertureandtheothermadewithasmallreceptoraperture.Thegeometricconditionshavebeenchosentopermittheuseofglossmetersthatprovide60x00B0;specularglossmeasurements(largereceptoraperture)and20x00B0;specularglossmeasurements(smallreceptoraperture)asspecifiedinTestMethodD523.AnadditionalmethodforthemeasurementofreflectionhazeisgiveninTestMethodE430.1.1Thistestmethoddescribesaprocedureforusingtwospecularglossmeasurementstoobtainahazeindexforhigh-glossnonmetallicspecimens().Itisparticularlyusefulforevaluatingthehazeinclearfinishesonnonglossysubstrates,andthehazeinreflectedimagesproducedbythesurfacesofopaqueglossypigmentedfinishes.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
